I am 28 years old. I am currently a returning student at Iowa State University. I am a mother of two children, ages 1 and 7. I have always been greatly academically inclined and especially enjoy working with and tutoring/mentoring young people.
Experience
While I don't have any formal experience, I have always been adept in the above listed subjects. I also am the one that family members come to for help with papers, especially. Tutoring is good for me to because if I don't know something, I will be learning alongside with you, because I will help you find the answers. I am very talented when it comes to different types of study skills and finding creative ways to help young people understand different concepts. When it comes to dealing with ADD and ADHD, my 7 year old has ADHD, so I am used to working beside him to help them focus on the subject at hand.

As I mentioned before, I am a single mom. I am very driven to learn and to help young people understand the importance of education. I have my A.A. in Liberal Arts from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. I earned my A.A. while being a mom, and working full-time, and living on my own. Those may not sound like big accomplishments, but I am sure anyone with young children can understand how much dedication it takes to go to school full time, go to work full time, and be a full time parent to your child. I lost my job in December 2010 and decided it was time to return to school and finish my B.S. in Child, Adult, and Family Services. My focus in my degree is on Adult and Family Services.
